Last week, Sequoia announced an investment into Decart.AI , which at first glance looks like a Minecraft clone. On second glance, its a little more pixelated than usual, also where was that axe that you swear you just placed in that chest?

Decart is a fully-generated world. Someone fed in YouTube clips of Minecraft play, along with the corresponding keyboard clicks to produce those moves. And then an AI model figured out all the game play and graphics necessary to produce that code. That’s roughly 500,000 lines of code, millions of hours of human effort, reverse engineered from the product.

Plus you can generate in real-time. That is, when you press a button on the keyboard, the next frame of the game is generated out of a neural net. There is no game there… just a whimsical bunch o…
